BY THE WATER
Two sisters come to a quiet beach to watch the waves. Eve, the elder sister, is fatally ill and Nan tries to cope with the inevitable. During the seven short scenes they avoid the subject, comment on the scenery, view a few nude people on the beach, remember a dream and a childhood memory of drowning. Eve hears a distant, unidentifiable sound. The day wanes, the fog comes in. Nan wonders what she will be able to do when the time comes. But Eve is lost in the distant sound.
